Sunset...
For a moment today I was worried. Worried about the fact that almost everyone has numerous office visits with all the big four accounting firms coming up and that I have zero. Worried about the fact that I believe that God is calling me to New York and the path isn't clear.
But his word clearly promises "I will go before you and will level the mountains. I will cut through gates of bronze and break down bars of iron. Then you will know that I am the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." He whispers to me, "All this and more I will do for you." LORD, help me believe it. Let me not live in fear of missing my calling. If I am focused on you, not on everyone else, then you have promised "He who has called you is faithful and he will do it."
He took me out running tonight towards the sunset. I love running towards the sun as it sets and watching the sky change from blue to purple to pink. It's perfect. And as I was standing in the middle of a park, thrilling at the colors and glory of the sunset, he said to me, "Have you ever seen one like that?" I had to say no, never. He answered back to me, "Will you ever see one like that again?" And again I had to say no, I have never seen two sunsets alike. Then he said, "Why would you expect your life to be any different? If I would make every single sunset different, how much more the lives of my children? I have called you to something else, something more than the people you see around you, and it is perfect for you. Let me work."
