I just spent the afternoon reading "The Coffee House Gospel", and wow, talk about relevant! It is all about sharing our faith through our daily lives and conversations, creating relationships with non-believers, and learning to love and reach people whose lives are opposite ours.
So many people claim that church in this day and age isn't practical, muchless relevant, and I think that there is a lot of truth to that. However, God - and His Word- happen to be day to day relevant. If the church was teaching Christ and His Word, then we would be relevant to this generation. It's this seperation of spiritual and practical that's killing the church and discrediting Christians.
That's why this book speaks truth. We have to learn how to live our everyday lives preaching Christ- and not only through actions but through our words. Just sharing our life, our struggles, our stories. When was the last time you mentioned Christ or your faith in an everyday conversation.... with an unbeliever? And yet, all of us must answer the call of Christ to be active participants in His story and learn to share our faith in our daily converstations.
