The new (very busy) semester.

I should just admit it now. I've learned the lesson of the semester already. Being on SGA Exec Council and being assistant director for FishAides at the same time is really not the best idea. It would probably be fine except that I have to go to school. In fact, all told it's probably too much to reasonably handle, but you never know unless you try. Anyway, I think it's really going to be okay.

Now that I have discovered that... I'm moving on with full speed. It will be enjoyable and I am excited about it. It just wasn't too smart.

The original.

I feel you just saying to my heart, " Now do you understand? Now do you see? Will you let me win you? Will you take the time to know me?"

I have spent hours reading books, sitting under teaching, hearing stories about knowing God, but not enough time getting to know the real thing. It's like hearing leatures on Michangelo, taking classes on art history, on understanding art, and never seeing the original. When I was in New York, I got spend hours in the Met enjoying the fabulous paintings. Let me tell you, i was awed. I was awed. I had a new appreciation for art, for the artists. I was mesmerized by the designs, the details, the different appearances from different angles. Completely different from seeing a fine print in the book. There is nothing like the orginal.

And that's how it is with God. There is nothing like the original. There is nothing like the wonders of his person. We were created, hear me on this, to know the wonders of his person. That's what's unending.

Raw truth.

"We have created a religion using the name of Jesus Christ and convinced ourselves that God's optimal desire for our lives was to insulate us in a spiritual bubble where we risk nothing, sacrifice nothing, worry about nothing.

The original call of Jesus was so simple, so clean, so clear: "Follow Me." He wants us to surrender our lives to Him and follow him into the unknown. And if it means a life of suffering, hardship, and disappointment, it will be worth it because following Jesus Christ is more powerful and more fulfilling than living with everything in the world minus Him.

Jesus leads us into the heart of the dark kingdom, into the soul of what is most evil. He takes us where mankind has chosen to live. He calls us to where the darkness has made those who wander there desperate for light. He leads us as warriors of light to risk our lives for the deliverance of others. Again, our own weapons are love, hope, faith, and they are our only defense. Yet we above all know that they and only they liberate us and fulfill the deepest longing of our souls."

A little New York affair.

What would you imagine that three girls on holiday in New York City would do? If they happen to be Carly Kouba, Lily Moore, and myself, then they would... Well, you'll see.
